Jo Huff's Lockdown Routine

An insight into Beauty Manager Jo Huff's lockdown routine including courses she is undergoing and at-home beauty hacks!

"Whilst I have been on furlough I have been keeping my mind busy with online courses which I have found really interesting. I also ensure I dedicate time each day to relax my mind and de stress my body.

Professional courses

Of the courses I have completed my favourites are the Fascia Anti-Ageing and Firming Face and Neck Massage which we will be performing in the treatment room when we return to the Medispa. Fascia is the connective tissue which lies under our skin all over our body and learning how to massage this fascia enables you to reconstruct the connective tissue for firmer, more lifted and hydrated face and neck.

I have been refreshing my mind with updated courses on our ANP range of supplements and updated training for all of our Environ treatments and Dermalogica so I am up to date in the current trends and latest treatment offerings to ensure I am ready for when we return to the treatment room!

Personal Courses

On a personal note I have also been doing some more energy healing courses such as Karuna K Reiki and Kundalini Reiki and Chakra healing and balancing.

In order to stay healthy I start the day by meditating. I love using music like binaural beats for this. I do this about 2 or 3 times a day. I also love to do 20 minutes of Qi gong every morning.

My current beauty hacks!

I have a good routine for my skincare which I do morning and evening which I love and feel is important for my skin. I always sleep on a silk pillow which I feel definitely helps to keep the skin smoother as sleep creases are a big cause of face wrinkling. I also try to sleep on my back for the same reason. If I have time (which I have lots of at the moment!) I wrap a wet muslin cloth around an ice cube. I use this to massage around my face and eyes as well in the morning before I put on my skincare. As well as de puffing the coldness also contracts and dilates the blood vessels in the skin therefore stimulating the skin's circulation by bringing new oxygen to the surface of the skin. My lips get very dry this time of the year so what I treat this area by applying lip balm to my lips then I use a tooth brush and brush in a clockwise direction which really helps to exfoliate them and leaves them feeling hydrated and plump.

I sometimes use sea salt in my bath to help me unwind and relax. Sea salt is super good for the skin and body. You only need half a cup and Sea salt has a vast number of minerals and trace elements such as calcium, zinc and iron.

I can't wait to get back to treating at the Medispa with all my lovely clients when we are able to reopen!
