Coolsculpting: What To Expect in Your First Treatment

If you’re considering CoolSculpting then you might like to know some more details about what you can expect before, during and after your treatment. We want to make you feel at home during your time with us at the Medispa so here’s a little bit of detail on what your experience at The Medispa will be like. 

Firstly lets clear up exactly what CoolSculpting is:

Coolsculpting is an FDA approved, non-invasive treatment to aid with body shaping. It is not a weight loss solution but rather a great option if you’re looking to shape your body. 

CoolSculpting works through attaching a vacuum like applicator to the area you would like to reduce fat and then freezing the fat at a precise temperature that the fat cells can no longer survive. The treatment isn’t painful, but it is a different sensation, which can initially seem strange, but you soon get used to it during your treatment.

Now let’s focus on what your experience will be like with us at The Hogarth Medispa. 

Your CoolSculpting journey will begin with a consultation. The CoolSculpting treatment is 100% COVID friendly and your consultation can be via zoom or in person at The Medispa. It will last for around 30 minutes and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions. Your consultation will cover:

After your consultation you will be ready to book your first session. We are very flexible with booking times being open 7 days a week and offering evening appointments during the week. 

Your first Coolsculpting session 

Once arriving at The Hogarth Medispa you will have time to settle in your room, start a film or get your laptop ready to work. Your therapist will attach the applicator, ensure you are comfortable and start the first cycle. Your treatment may include multiple cycles depending on the area and what you are looking to achieve, and this will have all been confirmed during your initial consultation. 

Throughout your treatment your therapist will leave the room so you are able to watch your movie or continue with your work, but they will always be on the other end of a buzzer, only seconds away. They will be more than happy to bring you any teas of coffees you would like throughout your treatment (You’ll feel like your at a 5* hotel). This is your opportunity for a bit of me time and we guarantee you’ll leave feeling more confident than when you arrived. You’ll have had time to relax, listen to a podcast or catch up on some emails. 

Once your cycles are complete and the applicator is removed your therapist will massage the area for 2 minutes to ensure the best results and then you’ll be ready to go back to your day. There will be no downtime but you may experience some skin sensitivity and redness for up to 2 weeks after the the treatment. This is completely normal and just means that your body is starting to eliminate the fat cells. 

At the end of your treatment you’ll chat to your therapist about how to ensure your treatment is as effective as possible and then you’ll arrange a follow up consultation to compare original pictures and discuss results.

Q. How long will it take until I see results? 

A. You will start to notice some changes just 6 weeks after your treatment and you will experience the full results after 12-16 weeks after treatment. 

Q. How long does the treatment take? 

A. The length of your treatment depends on the area you are targeting and how many cycles you will need. This differs person to person and will be discussed with your therapist in your initial consultation. 

Q. How many sessions will I need? 

A. You will see the results after just one session but it is possible to book a second session if it is what is needed to achieve your goals. 

Q. How much does it cost? 

A. The cost of this treatment depends on the areas you are treating and the volume of the tissue in the area, you can discuss your personalised treatment plans with one of our Experts. CoolSculpting is the only FDA approved, non-invasive fat loss solution on the market. 

Q. Will there be any recovery time needed? 

A. There is no downtime for this treatment but you will experience some redness, skin tenderness and skin sensitivity up to 2 weeks after the treatment.

We always suggest supporting your treatment with a healthy diet and regular exercise as CoolSculpting is a body sculpting treatment rather than a weight loss solution.
